Having seen the Kukunest range of organic kids bedding online and being impressed with the vibrant designs, I was excited when asked to do a product review for the brand – it’s easy
to be impressed with bright images of lovely designs, but is it backed by quality?

The Kukunest
range offers a modern and fresh design; the mums behind the brand
really have a great eye for design. I love the way the colours are
exciting and complementary, all at once. Plus the styles offer colour
schemes outside the normal realm of most boys & girls designs - you
won’t be lost for inspiration to decorate the rest of your child’s
room! Whether your little boy wants to be a space ranger with an Intergalactic theme, or your little girl enjoys the bright Lantern Festival Asian inspired theme, Kukunest offers designs to cater for them all, making going to bed a joy for your child.
As a mum, the fact the sheets are made to Oko-Tex standards using organic cottons, gives me piece of mind that my kids aren’t absorbing harmful chemicals and toxins as they sleep. Oko-Tex guarantees me that Kukunest sheets are free of toxins like lead, mercury and phthalates. Good for my piece of mind!
Let
me start by saying I was impressed from the moment I opened the
package, so you won’t find many negatives here! So after the ‘road
test’, here are my thoughts...
- As I’ve mentioned I LOVE the designs! Original, fresh and inspiring – just looking at them makes me want to redecorate the kids rooms!
- Oh my goodness, the sheets are so soft! It was a definite surprise to feel the softness when I opened the package, and an even bigger surprise to find the softness remained after I washed them – as did the colour. The 200 thread count percale retained the colours perfectly.
- A worry when buying a vibrantly coloured sheet set is, will the colours fade? As Kukunest dyes don’t sit on top of the fabric, they stay looking new and bright. After a few washes the duvet sets are still as colourful and soft as when I received them.
- I have to say, I think the price is fantastic! Granted, at $99.95 a set they’re not within everyone’s budget, but you’ll pay that amount – and more – for many kids bedding brands that AREN’T eco-friendly. So at that price, with those qualities, Kukunest has my vote.
- On a final point, I like the eco-friendly perspective of Kukunest, bucking the trend of using excessive amounts of packaging that would end up in landfill, and instead using minimal packaging made of recyclable materials.
So, overall (if you can’t already tell) I loved the Kukunest kids duvet sets
and would highly recommend them! A great balance between health and
design – wanting eco friendly and safe bed linens no longer means
settling for something unattractive or rough to touch.
If
I was looking for a negative, and trust me I’d be searching, it would
be that I feel that range suits a younger child and I’d like to see some
designs for older kids (my 6yr old thought the designs were a little
“young” for him, only liking the Intergalactic one).
That said, I can’t fault the gorgeous colours, vibrant designs or quality of the fabric; Kukunest is definitely my pick for safe and stunning looking kid’s duvet sets!
Prizes - winner received one of two sets of Kukunest Duvet sets, shown below.
